Rockies Fall Short Against the Dodgers
It wasn't the outcome we were hoping for as our Colorado Rockies fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers with a final score of 9-5. The game kicked off on a rocky start with the Dodgers' Freddie Freeman hitting a home run in the top of the first, quickly putting us behind by two runs.
Rockies' Efforts to Catch Up
We saw glimmers of hope when Tyler Freeman reached on an infield single, leading to a run after a disengagement violation by the Dodgers. Hunter Goodman then stepped up with a grounder allowing Freeman to score, bringing us to 2-1 by the end of the first inning. The Dodgers, however, surged ahead in the subsequent innings, leaving us trailing throughout the game. Despite Brenton Doyle's consistent performance with an RBI sacrifice fly and a fantastic two-run homer in the eighth inning, which was an absolute beauty at 442 feet, the deficit proved too much to overcome.
A Solid Effort from Our Squad
Even though it wasn't our night, we have to hand it to Doyle and Goodman for contributing on the scoreboard, along with a notable performance from Yanquiel Fernández as a pinch hitter. Our boys showed resilience, with moments of brilliance in their plays and swings. We had our chances, but today the Dodgers found those timely hits that made the difference. We're still proud of our Rockies and look forward to the next game—for Rockies Nation, we'll be cheering you on, as always, in the stands and from our screens. Let's get 'em next time! Go Rockies!
