Although Shohei Ohtani, Will Smith, and Freddie Freeman struck out in the first inning, it set a tense tone for what came next. Our pitchers held Toronto scoreless the entire game barring the third inning, maintaining steady focus and precision. The bullpen was rock solid, especially Sasaki and Glasnow who ensured the lead stayed intact. Kudos to the pitchers!

The highlight of the game was undoubtedly the third inning. Tommy Edman's double set the stage, leading to a strategic intentional walk for Shohei Ohtani. Then, Will Smith smashed a double to left, bringing Edman home and moving Ohtani to third. The inning got even better with Mookie Betts driving in two more pivotal runs, securing our 3-0 lead over the Jays. That was the break we needed, with Betts doing what Betts does best!

Defense Holds Strong​

Toronto managed to squeeze in a run during the bottom of the third, but our defense was impenetrable for the rest of the game. A crucial double play in the ninth, expertly executed by Justin Dean and the rest of our fielders, dashed any hopes the Blue Jays had of a late comeback.
