Tough Start for the Marlins
What a rollercoaster of emotions! But things quickly turned sour in the bottom of the 1st. The Cardinals wasted no time, with Victor Scott II and Masyn Winn setting the stage for a two-run double by Alec Burleson. By the time we managed to get out of the inning, we were trailing 4-0.
Spark of Life in the Fourth
Our guys tried hard to retaliate in the second and third innings but the hits just didn't fall our way. It seemed like the Cardinals had solid control. By the bottom of the 3rd inning, they had added another run on an error, leaving us in a 5-0 hole. Finally, the 4th inning brought the spark we were yearning for!
Cardinals Extend Their Lead
Sadly, that was the peak of the game for us Marlins fans. The Cardinals managed to answer back. Thomas Saggese homered in the 6th inning, and Ryan Mitchell's sacrifice fly in the 8th added insult to injury, setting the score to 7-4.As much as Victor Scott II and his crew seemed to be on fire, props to Ekness and Ralston for steady pitching that kept us in the game. However, the Marlins bats just couldn’t quite catch the magic of the 4th inning again. We came close but fell short this time. Onward and upward to the next one! Let's go Marlins!
