Tough Day at the Ballpark
Our beloved Miami Marlins faced off against the Washington Nationals in a game that saw its fair share of highs and lows. Unfortunately, this game tilted more toward the lows for us. The Nationals proved formidable at the plate, particularly in the first inning where they jumped ahead with a 3-run rally. Our boys had a rocky start with three quick outs in the first inning. But hey, it’s baseball—anything can happen!
Marlins Finding Light
Our Marlins fought back in the batter's box with some much-needed light in the 5th inning when Joey Wiemer hit a towering homer to left, bringing home Eric Wagaman and narrowing the Nationals' lead to 7-2. Heriberto Hernández followed up with a single, scoring two more runs, and suddenly the scoreboard read 7-4. It was an exciting moment, and hope flickered back into the game. Liam Hicks and the rest battled to keep the scoring going, but those errors from the first innings haunted us.Final Push Falls Short
Despite our Marlins' effort in the late innings, including Norby's stand-up double in the 8th, the Nationals' defense held strong. Even the base-running strategy couldn't close the gap, leading the game to end with the Nationals 10, Marlins 5. Though the final rally didn’t bring the comeback we wished for, seeing our team push till the end is what makes us Marlins fans. Win or lose, we wear our colors proudly, ready to take on the next challenge!
