Tough Loss at Wrigley Field
Well, Brewers fans, that was a nail-biter of a game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Our bats tried to rally, but ultimately, we fell short 4-6.
Highlights and Key Plays
Despite the loss, we still had some standout moments. Christian Yelich brought hope with a solo homer to right field in the 4th inning. Following his lead, Brandon Lockridge scored on a Sal Frelick single in the 5th, inching us closer to the Cubs. In the 6th inning, it was a clutch hit by Brice Turang bringing Andrew Vaughn home, followed by Sal Frelick batting in Turang – rallying our Brewers to within one run at 5-4!
Cubs' Counterattack
However, the Cubs' Willi Castro and Owen Caissie made it hard for us with homeruns that stretched their lead. Their pitcher Drew Pomeranz and later Daniel Palencia shut us down in the 8th and 9th. Even though Anthony Seigler, pinch-hitting in the 9th, fought hard, it just wasn’t our day.
Looking Forward
It's not the final score we wanted, but we’re proud of the strong efforts and key opportunities our squad created.
