A Tough Day for the Rockies
Hey Rockies fans, today was a tough one as the Brewers stormed into Coors Field and took a commanding win over our hometown team. It was a difficult outing for our pitching staff as the Brewers showed no mercy, eventually running away with a 17-2 victory. Let's break it down, even if it wasn't the fairy tale we hoped for.
Rockies Highlights (and a Few Low Points)
The game started solid as the first and second innings stayed scoreless thanks to some tidy defense and tight pitching. It was the third inning when things took a turn for the worse. Ezequiel Tovar's fielding error allowed the Brewers to rack up runs, and William Contreras capitalized with a homer to right center.Ryan McMahon gave us something to cheer about with a powerful 432-foot homer that brought us to 1-5 at the time. Kris Bryant and Brenton Doyle connected for a Bryant score in the 4th to provide us hope, bringing the score to 2-5. But after that, things slid dramatically downhill as the Brewers lit up the scoreboard in the fifth inning and never looked back.
Brewers Dominate the Late Innings
Despite the jarring loss, some of our guys made good plays. Hunter Goodman hit well, but the Brewers were relentless. They scored five more points in the final inning due to a combination of defensive errors and some explosive bats by Milwaukee, including a massive homer by Christian Yelich shot 465 feet to center. Yikes! In the end, we were unable to consistently put runners on and convert opportunities into runs. Credit to the Brewers for a powerful display, but we’re still here to support our Rockies
