Tough Day at Coors Field
Today was another challenging game for the Rockies as they faced off against the Brewers in Coors Field. Despite putting up a fight in the sixth inning, our beloved Rockies fell short with a final score of 4-2. Let's dive into the key moments of the game!
Early Struggles, Late Sparks
The Brewers opened the game on the offensive, quickly putting one run on the board in the first inning, thanks to a single from Sal Frelick that allowed Christian Yelich to score. Our Rockies struggled to respond initially, with players like Brenton Doyle and Ezequiel Tovar unable to find their rhythm early in the game. But then came that electrifying sixth inning! Tyler Freeman was hit by a pitch and later scored on a single by Owen Miller. Shortly after, Aaron Schunk continued the momentum with a single of his own, bringing Miller home to tie things up at 2-2. The energy in the stadium was palpable, and it felt like a Rockies comeback could be on the horizon.
A Game of Missed Opportunities
Unfortunately, the Brewers managed to regain their lead in the seventh inning. Jose Anderson delivered a clutch single to left, driving in two runs and putting Milwaukee ahead for good. While Jordan Beck, Tyler Freeman, and others had their chances, the Rockies weren't able to capitalize on them as we moved into the eighth and ninth innings. Despite some late efforts, including Hunter Goodman and Veen getting on base, key strikeouts stymied our hopes for a comeback.
Looking Forward
It was definitely a tough game for us Rockies fans, but there were still glimmers of hope throughout. Let's keep rallying behind our team as we look forward to the next matchup! With our lineup showing potential, it’s only a matter of time before we start seeing those 'W’s coming in more frequently. Let’s go, Rockies!
