Tough Loss in Pittsburgh
Hey Brew Crew!
A Slow Start
The game began quietly on both sides. Our bats were having a tough time getting momentum as Brice Turang, Jake Bauers, and Sal Frelick all struck out early. Even with Jackson Chourio and Christian Yelich knocking some singles, we couldn't quite capitalize in those early innings. On the pitching front, our guys managed to hold off Pittsburgh from scoring in the first two innings, but the Pirates struck first with a homer by their center fielder Oneil Cruz in the 3rd inning.
Fourth Inning Fireworks and Fumbles
Things started to look up in the 6th when Rhys Hoskins and William Contreras got involved, creating the opportunity for our first run. Hoskins got that key hit to bring in Chourio, and a little error from the Pirates allowed Hoskins to safely get to second. Starting the 7th, we found our rhythm with Andruw Monasterio coming through, setting up Turang and Chourio to drive in more runs. This put us in the lead, bringing us to 3-2!Coming Down to the Wire
Momentum was snatched out of our hands when Pittsburgh tied it up again in the 7th inning. We kept fighting though, with Contreras launching a stunning homer in the 9th, taking us ahead again at 4-3. But you have to hand it to the Pirates, they battled hard, and Cruz tied it again with another homer. Isaac Collins gave us hope in the 10th with a clutch single, scoring Durbin and pushing the lead to 5-4.The Heartbreaker Ending
The bottom of the 10th was hard to watch. An error allowed the Pirates to tie it at 5-5. Then, with some fielder missteps and a wild pitch, the Pirates managed to sneak in that winning run. It was a tough way to go down, but we showed perseverance through extra innings. Looking forward to bouncing back in the next game and bringing back a W for Milwaukee!

Stay strong, Brew Crew! Always next time!
