Game Recap: Royals Edge Out Twins in Close Contest

Despite a valiant effort, our Minnesota Twins fell short against the Kansas City Royals in a tight 3-2 finish. The game saw some exciting moments and strong performances from our lineup.

France Takes Flight

Early in the game, Ty France electrified Twins fans with a massive homer to left center, tying the score at 1-1 in the top of the 2nd inning. ☄️ His 411-foot shot was a bright spot and showcased his power at the plate.

Twins Take the Lead

In the 6th inning, Ryan Jeffers delivered when it mattered, singling to center and bringing Trevor Larnach home, putting us ahead 2-1. At this point, it seemed like momentum was shifting our way! 🎉

Royals Rally Late

Unfortunately, the Royals had their own comeback plans. In the bottom of the 7th, Jonathan India and a sacrifice fly by Bobby Witt Jr. added two more runs to their tally. Our bullpen put in a good fight, with Coulombe and Varland trying to keep things close, but the Royals managed to hang on to their one-run lead.

Nail-Biting Finale

The Twins had a chance to rally in the 9th inning. With Mickey Gasper and DaShawn Keirsey Jr. on the bases after a single and a hit by pitch, Twins faithful held their breath for a comeback. But the Royals' closer, Estévez, managed to shut the door by getting Matt Wallner to strike out swinging and Willi Castro to ground out, sealing the game.

Here's hoping for a bounce-back victory in our next match-up! 💪⚾
