Tough Game Against the Dodgers

Ugh, what a tough game for our Minnesota Twins fans! We battled against the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight, but unfortunately, despite a valiant effort from our lineup, we couldn't quite get the upper hand. The game ended with a 2-5 loss. 😢

Bright Start with Buxton

The game kicked off on an exciting note for us, as Byron Buxton wasted no time and hit a solo home run to left center in the top of the first inning, giving us an early lead — what a way to start! ⚾️ Unfortunately, our momentum stalled a bit afterward, and we couldn't capitalize further in the inning.

Dodgers Retaliate

The Dodgers quickly answered back with a two-run homer from Shohei Ohtani, taking the lead 2-1 at the end of the first inning. Ohtani, followed by another homer from Will Smith in the fourth and sixth innings, added to our woes. It wasn't looking good, but our Twins kept on fighting!

Missed Opportunities

We had runners on base several times, but the clutch hits just weren't falling into place today. Despite great singles from Ryan Jeffers, Royce Lewis, and Matt Wallner, getting those runners home proved elusive. Our defense had its moments too, with nice plays by Carlos Correa and Royce Lewis.

Late Rally Falls Short

In the 9th inning, we tried to mount a comeback. Buxton walked, and pinch-hitter Brooks Lee was hit by a pitch putting two runners on, and Jeffers earned a walk to load the bases. Kody Clemens came through with a sacrifice fly, bringing Buxton home for our second run. 🏃‍♂️💨 Unfortunately, we couldn't build on it, and the game ended with a 5-2 loss.

Despite the outcome, let's keep our heads high, Twins fans! We have talented players and more games ahead to turn things around. Let's get them next time! 😊💪
