A Battle Till the End
Hey Fish Fans!
Early Ups and Downs
The game started with a quick score from the Mets as Pete Alonso doubled to bring Juan Soto home. But the Marlins showed resilience with Matt Mervis’s sacrifice fly and clever plays that led to a couple of runs and snatched the lead. By the end of the 3rd, the Fish were swimming ahead, 2-1.Building Momentum
Griffin Conine showed his skill with a ground-rule double in the 7th, leading to a series of plays allowing Otto Lopez and Nick Fortes to add runs to the board. At the end of the 7th inning, we had momentum on our side, with the Marlins leading 4-1. There was a real sense of something special brewing.
A Tough 8th Inning
However, the Mets brought their A-game in the 8th inning with Alonso’s incredible homer that tied the game at 4-4. It definitely felt like a gut punch at a crucial moment.Extra Innings Thrills
The Marlins had an opportunity to clinch it as the game stretched into extra innings, but despite earnest efforts, they couldn’t quite seal the deal. Xavier Edwards’s swift moves did bring home Javier Sanoja, giving us a glimmer of hope, but ultimately, the Mets squeaked past us in the 11th inning.Looking Ahead
Even though the final score didn’t favor us, there were lots of positives to take away from this game—our lineup displayed some promising plays, and the energy was electric all through. Let’s keep our heads high and look to bring the heat in the next game, Fish Fam!
Catch your breath, keep the faith, and as always—Go Marlins!
