Frustrating Loss for the Mets Against the Phillies
Hey Mets fans, I wish I was reporting better news, but it was a tough day for the boys in blue and orange as we went down 11-3 to the Phillies. There were a few bright spots, but ultimately, the Phillies were just too much for us. Let’s break down how it all went down.Game Highlights
The game started with promise after Juan Soto singled and stole second in the top of the first inning, but unfortunately, we couldn't capitalize. The Phillies quickly took the lead in the bottom of the first with J.T. Realmuto driving in a run, and things didn't slow down for them after that. We finally got on the board in the fourth inning with a rally started by Juan Soto’s double followed by a run scored on Starling Marte's single. But it just wasn't enough to hold the Phillies at bay.Juan Soto's Standout Performance
If there was a standout Met this game, it was Juan Soto. He went 3-for-4, got an early hit, a stolen base, and smashed a solo homer in the 8th inning!
Looking Ahead
Our boys showed some fight in the ninth, with Cedric Mullins and Brett Baty trying to stir some late-game magic with back-to-back hits, but the deficit was too wide. Let’s hope we can bounce back in our upcoming games! Let’s keep our spirits up and continue to support our Mets. We’ll get ‘em next time, fellow Amazin' fans! Let’s go, Mets!
