Yankees Come Up Short in Cleveland

Well, fellow Yankees fans, it wasn't the result we hoped for as our boys fell 6-4 to the Cleveland Guardians in a game that had its moments, but ultimately didn’t go our way. From the get-go, things looked promising with Austin Wells reaching first on a fielding error and Aaron Judge securing a walk. Unfortunately, Cody Bellinger hit into a double play, and our guys were unable to capitalize in the first inning. 😤

Indians Take Control and Yankees Fight Back

The Guardians got their first runs in the 3rd inning when Jose Ramírez and Kyle Manzardo both hit home runs, putting us at a 4-0 deficit. After another Guardians run in the 4th, things looked bleak at 5-0, but we weren't ready to throw in the towel. The top of the 7th awakened the Bronx Bombers as Anthony Volpe singled, setting the table for Jasson Domínguez to launch a towering 445-foot homer to right-center, putting us on the board with style. ⚾💥

The Guardians added one more in the 6th, making it 6-2, but in the 8th Paul Goldschmidt singled before Jazz Chisholm Jr. took one deep, cutting the lead to 6-4. Oh, the excitement was palpable, but the heroics would end there despite Volpe getting on base once more.

Ninth Inning Heartbreak

Heading into the 9th inning, Oswaldo Cabrera gave us hope with a single, and with Judge at the plate, we all felt that Yankee magic. But alas, Judge struck out swinging, and our rally fell short. We leave Cleveland knowing we can slug it out with the best of them, and there are plenty more games to show our true strength. Keep your heads up, fans! We're just getting started. 💪🧢

Onward to the next game, let's hope we can turn things around and get back to our winning ways! Go Yankees! 🤍💙
