Tough Loss Against the Yankees
Hey Mariners fans, it was a tough one today as our Seattle Mariners fought hard but ultimately fell to the New York Yankees 3-2. The game was a true nail-biter from start to finish.
A Promising Start
Our boys started strong in the 3rd inning, with Julio Rodríguez giving us the lead with a clutch double to right that brought Leody Taveras and Leo Rivas home. This gave us a solid 2-0 lead, and the energy was high at T-Mobile Park!
Yankees Fight Back
However, the Yankees clawed back in the later innings. Domínguez's double in the 6th brought in Volpe for their first run, and Paul Goldschmidt tied it up in the 7th with a homer. The deciding blow came in the 8th when Aaron Judge hit a solo home run, putting the Yankees ahead 3-2.
Mariners' Final Push
In the bottom of the 8th, Cal Raleigh kept our hopes alive with a single, followed by Randy Arozarena getting hit by a pitch. Unfortunately, our rally was halted by a double play. The Yankees' closer, Weaver, was strong in the 9th as Leody Taveras, Ben Williamson, and pinch-hitter Mitch Garver all struck out to end the game.
Stay strong, Mariners fans! There's always the next game to look forward to! Go Mariners!
