A Chilly Night at Dodger Stadium
It's a tough night to be a Dodgers fan
Early Tension
The night started off with anticipation as Shohei Ohtani took a walk to get us on base early. It gave us hope, but unfortunately, the inning ended without a run to show for it. It was frustrating to see Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts fight but not get any further. The Athletics weren’t doing much damage in the first couple of innings either, until Jacob Wilson came in swinging in the 3rd inning with a significant 2-run homer.Missed Opportunities
Michael Conforto knocked it out with two doubles, providing chances for our guys to rally. Yet, each time, the Athletics shut us down just when we got some momentum. On the rare occasion we made it on base, like when Chris Taylor scored in the 3rd due to a fielding error, those were few and far between.Athletics Dominate Late
Once again, Jacob Wilson delivered in the 5th inning with another homer. By this point, the Athletics had taken control of the game. Our pitchers tried to hold the line, but the late offensive burst by the Athletics, including homers by Miguel Andujar and JJ Bleday in the 9th, sealed our fate tonight.Looking Ahead
We have to tip our cap to the Athletics tonight, even if it pains us to do so. But fret not, Dodgers Nation, let’s regroup and come back stronger
