A Rocky Start at American Family Field

Tough day at the ballpark for us Brewer fans 😞. We started the game on an even note, with a scoreless 1st inning thanks to some solid defense against the Athletics. Brice Turang and Jackson Chourio both lined out, while Christian Yelich struck out swinging. We hoped this was just a shaky start 🤞.

Finding a Moment of Hope

Our first sign of life came in the bottom of the 3rd. Garrett Mitchell doubled to center, and a couple of well-placed groundouts by Joey Ortiz and Caleb Durbin brought Mitchell home, putting us ahead 1-0. The crowd erupted 🥳, and we all felt the momentum swinging our way!

Home Run Heartbreaks

Alas, the lead was short-lived. In the top of the 5th, Athletics tied the game with Miguel Andujar doubling in JJ Bleday. Brent Rooker smacked a solo homer in the 6th, which put the Athletics on top 2-1. The dagger came when Shea Langeliers blasted a 423-foot homer in the 9th, extending the A's lead to 3-1.

Final Hopes Dashed

In the bottom of the 9th, we hoped for a miracle rally, but it wasn't meant to be. Turang, Chourio, and Yelich were all unable to find the spark needed to ignite a comeback. With bated breath, we watched our bats go silent and had to accept a 3-1 loss.

Keep your heads up, Brewers fans! Despite the loss, there were promising moments that show we can hang tough. Onward to the next! 💪⚾
