A Rocket Start for the Phillies
The game began with the Philadelphia Phillies wasting no time in taking the lead. Harrison Bader led off with a walk, setting the stage for Kyle Schwarber to deliver a powerful double to left field, bringing Bader home and putting the Phillies up early. Bryce Harper advanced Schwarber to third with a ground out, which was followed by a J.T. Realmuto sacrifice fly, allowing Schwarber to score again. The Phillies had us in a 0-2 deficit, but we know the D-backs have resilience!
Gritty Fightback by the D-backs
In the bottom of the first, our boys started to claw back. Geraldo Perdomo hit a double to left. Following a ground out by Ketel Marte, Corbin Carroll stepped up with a single to right, scoring Perdomo and getting the D-backs on the board. The game stayed competitive as our defense tightened and kept the Phillies scoreless in the second and third innings.
Diamondbacks Seal the Victory
The middle innings saw Alec Bohm of the Phillies delivering a home run to center, pushing them slightly ahead at 3-2. But our D-backs weren’t done yet! In the bottom of the sixth, the bats came alive with Blaze Alexander and James McCann both doubling, and Ildemaro Vargas coming through with a critical single to score McCann, bringing the game to 4-3 in our favor!
What a thrilling game, and a well-deserved win for our Arizona Diamondbacks!
