Reds vs. Phillies: A Tough Finish at Great American Ball Park
Hey Reds fans!
Early Advantage By the Reds
Our boys got off to a great start in the first inning. TJ Friedl kicked things off with a double to right, and Gavin Lux brought in the first run with a nice single to right, allowing Friedl to score!
Defensive Battle Until the Eighth
Both teams engaged in a defensive clash throughout the mid innings. Our pitchers did a fantastic job keeping the Phillies at bay, with no runs allowed through seven innings.
The Phillies Rally
The decisive moment came in the top of the 8th inning. After Edmundo Sosa and Weston Wilson made their way onto the bases with hits, Trea Turner singled, and due to an unfortunate error, Wilson scored, catapulting the Phillies into the lead.
A Tough Loss, But We Keep Our Heads High!
Though we couldn't come back in the last innings, with Tyler Stephenson and Matt McLain both going out swinging, and a determined Jake Fraley lined out to third, the team put forth a commendable effort. We'll rally behind our team and look forward to bouncing back strong in the next game! Go Reds!
