Heartbreaker in St. Louis
Oh, Pirates fans, what a rollercoaster of a game it was against the St. Louis Cardinals! It started off promising with Ronny Simon singling to left and Bryan Reynolds hitting a ground rule double in the first inning. Spencer Horwitz grounded out, allowing Simon to score and putting us on the board first.

A Power-Packed 3rd Inning
Bryan Reynolds hit a mammoth 432-footer, a two-run blast that also scored Nick Gonzales. And not to be outdone, Spencer Horwitz followed with a 413-foot homer to right center. Just like that, it was 4-1, and we were breezing!

Cardinals Fight Back
Unfortunately, the game turned in the 5th inning. The Cardinals launched a relentless comeback with hits from Gorman, Saggese, and Walker. They managed to add five runs, taking the lead 6-4. It was a tough inning for our relief pitchers Heaney and Holderman.Comeback Attempts
We showed spirit with Jack Suwinski's walk and Joey Bart's single. Nick Gonzales hit a sacrifice fly, allowing Suwinski to score, making it 6-5. And then, in the 9th, Ronny Simon's double brought Liover Peguero in to tie the game at 6. We were on the edge of our seats!

A Crushing End
Yet, in the bottom of the 9th, Alec Burleson homered off Carlos Santana, sealing a 7-6 victory for the Cardinals. It was a heartbreaker, but kudos to our team for fighting all the way until the end. Let’s regroup and come back stronger next time, Pirates fans!

Here's to hoping for more wins. Let's Go Bucs!
