Tough Start
Wow, Padres fans, this game was a rollercoaster!
A Glimmer of Hope
Heading into the 3rd inning, we were trailing 1-0, but Martin Maldonado delivered with a fantastic solo homer to left, tying the game at 1-1.

Cubs Pull Ahead
In a frustrating turn of events, the Cubs managed to scratch out two more runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. A infield single by Justin Turner and a costly error by Machado gave them a 3-1 lead.
Missed Opportunities
The Padres’ bats were back and forth today. We had Jacob Cronenworth hit a double in the 5th, and Jackson Merrill singled late in the game, but we just couldn’t string together the hits when it counted. The ninth inning had us biting our nails as Xander Bogaerts and Jackson Merrill found their way on base, but unfortunately, Gavin Sheets and Cronenworth couldn’t bring them home. It was a tough 1-3 loss, but there was effort till the end. What’s Next
