A Strong Start for the Tigers
The Detroit Tigers took on the San Diego Padres today, bringing some serious excitement to the field at Comerica Park. Right from the get-go, the Tigers showed their resolve. Even though the Padres managed to score first with Fernando Tatis Jr.'s run, our Tigers stepped up in the bottom of the 1st inning! Gleyber Torres kicked things off with a single to center, followed by a terrific triple from Zach McKinstry that brought Torres home to tie the game. Not stopping there, Colt Keith added to the tally, driving in McKinstry with a single to right.
Mid-Game Momentum
In the subsequent innings, the Tigers showed grit and determination. In the 2nd inning, a clutch single from Tomas Nido brought home Javier Báez, and Riley Greene's critical base hit added another run. Throw in Gleyber Torres again, showcasing his importance with a 2-run single in the 3rd inning, and we had a comfortable lead at 6-2 by the end of that inning. It was all about consistency, smart plays, and keeping the pressure on the Padres' defense.Nail-Biting Finish
The Padres attempted to claw back in the top of the 5th with a homer from Gavin Sheets and a couple of scored runs, making it 6-4. But strong pitching and solid field defense by our boys thwarted any further advances. Spencer Torkelson's presence on first base and Justyn-Henry Malloy's efforts as the designated hitter did not go unnoticed, maintaining our control. Will Vest closed it out for us in the 9th, striking out Fernando Tatis Jr. for the final out, sealing the win at a triumphant 6-4!

Great teamwork and execution today, Tigers! Let's keep that spirit roaring throughout the season!
