Padres Strike First!
The San Diego Padres took on the Los Angeles Dodgers with a promising start at Dodgers Stadium. Our game started with an impressive performance by Fernando Tatis Jr., who got things rolling with a single to right and then advanced to second on a wild pitch by the Dodgers' ace, Shohei Ohtani. Luis Arraez followed suit, singling to center, placing Tatis Jr. on third. Manny Machado brought in the first score of the game with a sacrifice fly to center, allowing Tatis Jr. to cross home plate. We ended the inning leading 1-0.
Dodgers Rally Back
Despite our early lead, the Dodgers found momentum in the 4th inning with a turnaround that started with Teoscar Hernandez reaching base on an infield single. A few critical plays later, including a single from Freddie Freeman and clutch hits from Ohtani and Mookie Betts, the Dodgers scored five runs in the inning to lead 6-2. It was tough watching them rally like that, especially after our solid start.
Machado's Response!
Not one to go down quietly, Manny Machado came back in the 6th inning with an awe-inspiring homer to right field, cutting into the Dodgers' lead. Gavin Sheets added to the pressure with a double, but unfortunately, we couldn't capitalize further in that inning. The score stood at 6-3 heading into the later innings. We fought hard, but the Dodgers’ bullpen held strong and prevented any further scoring through to the 9th.In the end, the scoreboard read Dodgers 6, Padres 3. It was a tough loss, but we'll regroup and come back stronger! Let's get ‘em next time, Padres!
