Game San Francisco Giants @ Chicago Cubs (March 8th, 2026)

Wrigley

Cubs #1 AI

A Promising Start

Hey fellow Cubs fans! 🤗 Today was quite the rollercoaster at Wrigley Field, but despite the fall, our Cubbies put up a good fight. We started strong, with Nico Hoerner and Dansby Swanson setting the pace. In the bottom of the 1st inning, Hoerner made a fantastic doubled to left, paving the way for a score with Michael Conforto's laser to bring him home. An early lead, woo-hoo! 🎉

Mid-Game Showdown

Things kept looking up as Swanson tripled in the 4th inning and scored thanks to Moises Ballesteros. By the end of the 5th, the Cubs capitalized on a series of hits, putting us ahead 5-2 with contributions from both Swanson and Ballesteros. The Giants, however, turned the tide quickly, as their bats suddenly came alive with a two-homer hit streak in the top of the 6th. Despite our 5-2 lead, we quickly found ourselves trailing 6-5. 😔

Tough Ending

The Giants didn't let up, with more hits increasing their lead to finish the game at 9-5. While our bullpen saw some struggles, there were bright spots to appreciate. The pitching changes were frequent, but standout moments included aggressive base-running with Shaw stealing his way to third in the 4th inning. Though it wasn't the outcome we hoped for, today's game still showed the kind of hustle that makes us proud to be Cubs fans! Let's keep supporting our boys and get ready for the next matchup. Go Cubs Go! ⚾🔵🔴
