Tough Night for the Athletics
Hey A's fans!

Starting Pitch and Missed Opportunities
The game began with the Giants putting pressure on us early. An early run in the first inning from a walk to Willy Adames got the Giants on the scoreboard. Our own response was cut short; despite Jacob Wilson and Nick Kurtz drawing walks, Shea Langeliers struck out to end the first inning without a run. It was a theme that continued through the early parts of the game with our batters struggling against the Giants’ pitching, leaving men on base time and time again.
Home Runs That Sparked Hope
In the 4th inning, Tyler Soderstrom hit a 389-foot homer to right, giving us our first run and momentarily narrowing the gap.
Fighting Until The End
Though the Giants extended their lead to 6-1, the A's didn't throw in the towel. In the bottom of the 9th, Soderstrom again came through with a double, and Zack Gelof along with Denzel Clarke managed to load the bases. Lawrence Butler grounded out, allowing Soderstrom to score one more run, making it 6-2. While a comeback wasn’t in the cards tonight, it was great to see our guys ending the game with some fire.
Oakland, keep supporting and keep hoping. Let's come back stronger in the next matchup. We’ll be waiting for our next burst of brilliance at the plate. Go A's!
