A Promising Start
The Seattle Mariners started strong in their clash against the Detroit Tigers. In the top of the 2nd inning, Josh Naylor got the momentum going with a double to right, and it was Dominic Canzone who drove in our first run with a clutch single, bringing Naylor home for an early 1-0 lead. We held the Tigers scoreless through three innings, with resilient pitching and solid defense.
Building on the Lead
In the top of the 4th, another strategic play extended our lead. With the bases loaded, Victor Robles grounded into a double play, allowing Josh Naylor to score and pushing our tally to 2-0. In the top of the 5th, Randy Arozarena scored on a single by Cal Raleigh, taking advantage of a wild pitch to add another run. The Mariners were up 3-0 and showing promise.
A Sudden Shift
Regrettably, things took a turn in the bottom of the 5th when the Tigers scored three quick runs, fueled by key hits from Dillon Dingler, Jahmai Jones, and Javier Baez. Despite our strong start, the game tied at 3-3. Another turning point came in the 6th when the Tigers exploded offensively. Riley Greene hammered a homer, and Javier Baez added more with his own two-run homer, making it tough for the Mariners to recover. By the time the dust settled, the Tigers' lead was insurmountable, ending in a tough 9-3 loss for our Mariners. While we didn't come out on top this time, let's cheer on our team and hope they rally in the upcoming games!
