Rays Take a Nail-Biter Over the Cubs: 5-4 Victory!
What a thrilling game at Wrigley Field!
Early Cubs Lead and Rays Response
The Cubs were first to put a mark on the scoreboard with Moises Ballesteros blasting a homer in the 2nd inning, followed by a 2-RBI double from Dansby Swanson in the 4th inning, making it 3-0. But no worries, Rays' fans — our team doesn't back down that easily! In the 5th inning, Bob Seymour tripled and was brought home by Richie Palacios, cutting the deficit. The comeback continued in the 6th when Yandy Díaz and Brandon Lowe shone, each contributing to tie the game at 3-3.Sealing The Deal in Style
Despite a scare from Michael Busch in the 7th with a homer that gave the Cubs a brief lead, our Rays weren't done yet. In the 8th inning, Junior Caminero sent a majestic solo homer deep into center field to even it up again. Then came the defining moment in the 9th — Nick Fortes delivered a clutch solo homer, propelling us to a 5-4 lead! Our closer, Pete Fairbanks, handled the pressure superbly, securing the win by striking out the final two batters and keeping Chicago stranded with a solid shutout performance in the bottom of the 9th.Let’s keep this momentum rolling, Rays Nation!
