Tough Night for the Astros in Houston
As a die-hard Astros fan, tonight's game was definitely a tough one to watch
Early Struggles and Solid Defense
Right from the top of the 1st inning, both teams were playing strong defense, with Josh Smith of the Rangers striking out and Corey Seager taking a walk. Isaac Paredes got us off to a promising start with a double in the bottom of the inning, but unfortunately, a quick defensive play by the Rangers resulted in a rare double play that left Paredes and Cam Smith unable to score. The Rangers quickly took a lead in the top of the 2nd inning as Evan Carter's triple brought Wyatt Langford home, followed by a ground rule double by Ezequiel Duran that scored Carter. Meanwhile, Victor Caratini made an admirable effort with a single at the bottom of the inning, but again, the team couldn’t manage to bring him home.
Lone Spark by Zack Short
Our offense seemed to be missing some key opportunities, but Zack Short gave us Astros fans something to cheer about in the bottom of the 6th inning with a powerful homer to left field
On the other hand, Adolis García from the Rangers had a stellar night hitting a home run in the top of the 3rd. Marcus Semien added one more with his solo homer in the 8th inning that sealed their win.
Looking Ahead
It was tough seeing a few missed opportunities at bat and some quick outs caught by the Rangers’ defense that cost us dearly. Kudos to the Rangers for their performance, but we’ll regroup and come back stronger! Onward and upward, Houston fans!
