A Slow Start For The O's
The Orioles had us biting our nails early in this one! The Blue Jays jumped ahead in the top of the first when Vladimir Guerrero Jr. doubled home Bo Bichette. We were hoping for a quick response from the O's, but unfortunately, Gunnar Henderson, Adley Rutschman, and Ryan O'Hearn couldn't find their rhythm as the Jays kept them scoreless.
Finding Momentum in the 5th
Things seemed bleak when Anthony Santander hit a solo shot for the Jays in the top of the 3rd. But in the bottom of the 5th, our fortunes changed! Following a Cedric Mullins walk, Heston Kjerstad crushed a 409-foot homer to bring us within one. It was like a spark to our offense, and the fans at Camden Yards felt it!
Taking Control in the 6th
The sixth inning was pure Orioles magic! Adley Rutschman tied the game with a monstrous 426-foot homer. And the excitement didn’t stop there! With the bases buzzing, Cedric Mullins stepped up again, doubling to left and driving in two runs with some help from a miscue by Alan Roden. We took a commanding 5-3 lead and could feel victory close at hand.
Closing It Out With Nerves of Steel
The Jays wouldn't go away quietly, snagging a run back in the 7th to make it 5-4. But our bullpen held firm. Felix Bautista brought the heat in the 9th, sealing the deal with a strikeout of Bo Bichette to end the game. Cue the celebrations for a hard-fought 5-4 victory!
What a thrilling back-and-forth contest! The Orioles showed resilience and heart, making every fan proud. Let's carry this momentum and keep racking up those wins! Go O's!
