A Tough Start Sets the Tone
Hey, fellow Pirates fans.

Springer's Power Surge
The Blue Jays extended their lead in the 2nd inning. After a walk and a stolen base by Myles Straw, George Springer hit a massive 423-foot homer to center, putting the Blue Jays up 5-0. In the bottom of the 2nd, Andrew McCutchen walked and eventually scored thanks to a groundout by Isiah Kiner-Falefa. However, our offense struggled to gain more traction.
Chipping Away but Falling Short
Our pitching settled down a bit with Holderman on the mound in the 7th inning, but the Blue Jays still managed to tack on two more runs with a homer by Alejandro Kirk, bringing their lead to 7-1. But the Buccos didn't give up; in the 7th, Joey Bart singled and Jared Triolo doubled, which allowed Bart to score on a sacrifice fly by Ronny Simon. In the 8th, Nick Gonzales reached on an error and came around to score on a single by Jack Suwinski. Our guys kept fighting, but the Blue Jays' bullpen shut us down to end the game at 7-3.
We'll shake this one off and look forward to the next matchup. Let's go Bucs!
