First Inning Lead

What a glorious way to start the game, Nationals fans! 🌟 CJ Abrams showed his skill early on, hitting a single that set the tone for the inning. After Amed Rosario got hit by a pitch, it was clutch play by James Wood that moved us in scoring position, although he was caught out at home trying to make the run. Nathaniel Lowe stepped up big time, driving in Rosario with a fielder's choice to take the lead 1-0. It was a promising start, with our defense holding firm against the Braves in the bottom half.

Third Inning Struggles

We had a little hiccup in the third inning as Michael Harris II tripled, followed by Stuart Fairchild doubling him home. Things got tough when Fairchild scored on a throwing error by Riley Adams, putting the Braves up 2-1. A setback, sure, but no one said a win comes easy. We held our breath and hoped for a spark from our lineup to get back on track. 💪

Top of the Seventh Comeback

The tide started to turn in the seventh inning. Dylan Crews and Jose Tena were instrumental, both getting crucial hits that advanced the score. Crews scored on a single, and Tena followed that with a double to bring the Nationals closer, narrowing the Braves' lead to 4-3. Our incredible tenacity in the face of pressure was on full display!

Eighth Inning Fireworks

The top of the eighth inning was nothing short of spectacular for the Nationals! CJ Abrams managed to capitalize on a Braves' mishap with a throwing error, reaching third, and Amed Rosario singled to level the score at 4-4. 🔥 Then, James Wood stepped up in a massive way, doubling in the go-ahead run as Nasim Nuñez bolted across home plate. That was Nationals baseball at its finest, taking the lead at 5-4!

Sealing the Victory

With the lead in hand, we turned to our bullpen. They needed to be on-point to fend off the Braves. Kyle Finnegan came in to shut things down in the ninth, and despite a pesky single by Drake Baldwin, our defense held firm. When Alex Verdugo grounded out and Austin Riley struck out swinging, the excitement soared. The final out by Marcell Ozuna on a flyout to right sealed our thrilling 5-4 win! 🎉💥

Nationals fans, this was a game to remember. The perseverance and talent of our squad shone through brilliantly. Onwards and upwards! ⚾💪
