Dominant First Inning Sets the Tone
The Chicago Cubs came out swinging in the first inning, quickly establishing their dominance against the Washington Nationals. It all started with Ian Happ drawing a walk, followed by Seiya Suzuki's single. Pete Crow-Armstrong then delivered a sacrifice fly, bringing Happ home. But the real fireworks came when Dansby Swanson blasted a three-run homer, pushing the Cubs to a 5-0 lead! What an explosive start!Strong Pitching and Steady Offense
The Cubs' pitchers kept things tight, with the defense supporting them well to maintain a solid lead. Meanwhile, our offense was relentless with Reese McGuire launching a solo home run in the second inning, extending the fun and taking the score to 6-0. Although the Nationals managed to get a few runs in the fourth, our boys responded in kind when Willi Castro hit a crucial ground-rule double in the fourth, bringing two runners home.
Securing a Big Victory
By the time we reached the sixth inning, it was clear the Cubs were not letting up. Ian Happ walked and later scored thanks to Crow-Armstrong's sacrifice and Nico Hoerner homered to further bolster our lead to 10-5. The cherry on top came in the eighth inning when Happ hit a solo homer, pushing the score to 11-5. The Nats couldn't muster a comeback, and when Michael Hodge shut the door in the ninth, the W was all ours! Let's go Cubs!

Final Score: Cubs 11, Nationals 5. Way to go, team!
