Game Recap

Well, Friar Faithful, today's game against the Washington Nationals was a roller coaster that unfortunately didn't end in our favor. 🏟️ Despite our boys fighting hard until the very end, we fell short with a final score of 10-6.

Early Mistakes

The game was off to a rough start as Mason Kolek had a throwing error in the top of the 4th inning, leading to our first run deficit of 0-4. The Nationals capitalized on our mistakes with some timely hitting, including a critical three-run spurt in that inning.

Responding to the Challenge

But never count the Padres out! Manny Machado got us on the board in the bottom of the 4th with a solo blast to center field. His homer was a spark of life for the team! 💥 Jake Cronenworth followed suit in the 7th with another bomb to center, adding to our score.

Battling to the End

Moving into the 9th inning, the Nationals extended their lead further. But the Padres showcased their resilience with Fernando Tatis Jr. launching an impressive 435-foot homer, bringing Gavin Sheets and Jose Iglesias home. Could this be a sign of Tatis' scorching form? 🔥

Final Thoughts

Though the Nationals ended up with the victory, this game was a testament to our team's fighting spirit. It's always tough to see our Padres take a loss, but don't fret, Vamos Padres! We'll bounce back stronger for the next game! Stay tuned, and let's continue to support our team. 👏
